Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) inhibits 5-alpha reductase, the enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. This herb is famous for helping with urinary symptoms associated
with an enlarged prostate gland (also called benign prostatic
hyperplasia, or BPH). It may also be used for pelvic pain, bladder disorders, PCOS, low libido, hair loss, and hormonal imbalances.
